HOW MUCH DOES THE TEMPERATURE GET REDUCED?
The evaporative cooling efficacy depends directly on the humidity and temperature conditions of inlet air.
This system indeed tends to saturate the inlet air with water vapour, bringing the indoor relative humidity to 90-95%.
The inlet air is cooled and humidified at the same time. So, the more the inlet air is dry, the more the air that is led into the indoor space will be cooled.
This may lead to think that the advantage of decreasing the temperature may be null in the face of humidity increase.
For this purpuse, it is useful to know the concept of perceived heat (a word abused by the media).
According to the Stedman diagram, with decreasing the temperature, the relevance of the humidity level to the perception of heat significantly reduces.
As you can see in the table below, when the temperature of inlet air reaches 27°C, the additional humidity becomes unimportant for the wellness perception.
